Project Recap

10/12/11

Thanks for your interest and questions. I'll try to answer them.

1)         Our headquarters location changed in July 2011 from St Charles to Elgin. Rich Ferrell, our President passed away suddenly from a heart attack in December. His widow, Annette and his Daughter have been monitoring the website (as the daughter designed it). We have been discussing how to update it and with our move of headquarter location and these personal changes regretfully we are behind in updating it. Please forgive us. We promise to get on this as soon as feasible here in the near future.

2)         The Paraplegic project was also just approved by the board at our July meeting. Our website has not been updated since.

3)         Yes other funds have come in for this. TEAM has donated $3000 for the project. We have raised an additional $3500 for this since July. Your generous donation brings us to $8500 and our target goal of $10,000 to begin phase 1 of construction. This trip I am taking a business savvy woman (from Dallas, TX) with me to iron out the preliminaries. We will be meeting with the widow that has donated the land and draw up legal contracts for that.

I have been researching possible contractors and have 3 strong endorsements (from people, Bideshi's, I respect in Nepal) for a man named R….. who currently is the engineer at the hospital Team built and started. We are praying he is God's man for the job. We will personally interview him and if God leads, we will have him draw up designs and arrange for building materials. He would then arrange for excavation of the land and begin construction.

4)         In March I have 4 people (so far) interested in joining together to form a team to come out and help with the remainder of construction and finishing Phase 1 of the building which will be the paraplegic facility. If we are able to raise more funds we hope to also begin phase 2 which would be a Skill training center for impoverished women/DIY library to help these impoverished women get ahead and support microenterprises. Phase 3 will be construction of an upper story to become a guest house to house teams that come out (might be shared by WYAM and OM teams as well) and Bideshi's who might come to enjoy seeing what the Lord is doing in this amazing corner of the world! (2 of the 4 who thought they could go on this trip have had to pull back for now.) Pray for the development of that team and the skill set that will be needed to complete the phase 1 project.

5)         Priorities HUMMMMM We follow the Lord's leading and it fluctuates. The orphanage in Kathmandu is going strong with 19 kids. The Bakery microenterprise is up and going as of May 29th 2011 and God is blessing many through it. We will be following up on it this trip too. The radio broadcasts are also flourishing and bearing much fruit on a Kingdom level! God is doing amazing things through that! We do experience a fair amount of resistance from the Hindu extremists and need much prayer for the endurance of our staff and programmers. We need $300/ month for that to sustain ministry and are currently behind but this is His ministry and we lean on Him for our needs. We also subsidize a ministry to the Leprosy Community of 72 families in farming and animal husbandry. We need a knowledgeable field worker to continue this ministry though, as D… is unable to manage this as before. Our women's ministries have 3 major components Widows care, skill training for impoverished women especially single moms, and the paraplegics. As the Lord opens doors and opportunities we prayerfully go through them. Right now, He is clearly opening the door for the new facility for the paraplegics! We are proud to be a part of it!

Our ministry to feed the hungry homeless is on-going and always needing support. We always do all we can with what comes in. Unlike many Not for profits... about 85% of all our donations go directly to the field and used for the projects. The remaining 15% is used for transportation of our field staff and administration. 100% of all specifically allocated funds are used as specified. So if you are writing a check, feel free to designate in the memo how you wish it to be used and we will honor that!

Hopefully this answers your questions? I would be delighted to speak with you in person if you wish and have further questions. I will be here for 6 more days and love to speak with you!

Thank you for partnering with us in seeing that God's love is tangibly expressed to the hurting of Nepal. His Grace and Love is awesome and sustains both us and the precious people HE has called us to minister to!
Blessings!
Dawn Bove
