Bring your own suitcase, LOL

8/15/11

So many of you have said to me over the last few years..."I wish I could stow away with you in one of your suitcases and go with you to Nepal"! Well guess what ... Now you can!
Well you cannot go in my suitcase but you can come along and bring your own two suitcases!

How????

Welcome to Dare to Care Team Nepal!

We are putting a team together to go half a world away and make a difference for 4 weeks in October/ November 2011. An Alternative date is a month in March/April 2012. So email me pronto if the Lord is moving you to go with me and the preference of dates you could participate in.

Our trip in the fall would likely leave around Oct 20th and you would return the week of Thanksgiving (Nov 20 or 21st depending on flight availability). It is a 23 hour flight trip to Kathmandu and we "loose a day" going there. We would take a day or two in Kathmandu to see some temples, tourist sites and do a little shopping while we pick up supplies to take out west. We will then rent a van for all of us and head west. If we go direct it takes a full day (15-18 hours) or we could take a day or two in a wildlife reserve in Chitwan to do a safari with tigers/elephants etc if everyone is in agreement.

Then we would proceed to Dhangadi where we would spend a couple nights and do day trips to a Tharu Tribal village and our Hansen's disease (Leper Colony) ministry villages in Sheshia. Both these need holes dug and toilets installed if we want to contribute towards a project.

Then we will head up into the mountains (5 hour trip) to Dadeldhura and spend the remainder of our time working there at a variety of projects. Some include landscaping a patio for the Bakery, working in the Bakery, visiting the paraplegics and doing handicrafts with them, and if the Lord provides the funds... construction of a new handicap facility for the 2 paraplegic women and training center/ guest house above it. We would also visit some hill villages and do some serious prayer walking and hikes of varying intensities.

We could rent the van back or fly back from Dhangadi to Kathmandu depending on group consensus. (Note I am sparing you the 30 hour horrendous bus ride!)

I can only take 6-8 people so if you are interested call me ASAP at
360 - 769- 2350 or on my cell 630- 272- 0512 and we can discuss the possibilities!

You will need a passport and $3000 plus spending money for this 4 week adventure. You will also need a good sleeping bag for super cold weather and a backpack so think about who you can borrow from!

Pray with us for the right people... a good mix of gifts/abilities and great attitudes and willing spirits to participate. You will need to fill out an application form that gives us a picture of your faith and personality. I will send this to you immediately and the first 8 to be approved by our board will have this opportunity of a life time.

It is coming at us sooner than we all think, so we are putting a deadline of August 22, 2011 to get your "interest" notification to me for the October trip. A second or alternate trip for March will be available for candidates that don't get in for the first trip.

Pray for what God wants to do in our hearts and lives through this trip as well as how we can bless the Nepalese we will meet and minister to!

Please pray immediately, call me ASAP and if you are joining the Team get crackalacking on your passport and raising your $3000!

So much to do... so little time!
And by the way ... go to Goodwill and get 2 suitcases! You will need your own. Mine are full and we have more we would like to be able to take out there!

Blessings

Dawn Didi
